Poe Takes Over ComiXology!

Okay… maybe not.

But The Imaginary Voyages of Edgar Allan Poe issue 4, released on the last New Comic Book Day of 2017, has been featured on ComiXology’s main page! We are so thrilled and thankful! You can now read the entire first chapter of our epic tale by downloading issues 1-4 on ComiXology or Amazon Kindle, so we are chuffed to pieces about that!

This week we received a wonderful note from the mom of a reluctant reader gushing about how much her son loves our book and can’t wait for the next issue. “I’ve never seen him so excited about reading,” she said.  That, my friends, is what it’s all about!

One last note: please don’t forget to vote for The Imaginary Voyages of Edgar Allan Poe for Comic Book of the Year on BareBones Entertainment’s site! Voting is only open until January 5th, so please do that now if you haven’t already done so. It only takes a few seconds and you can vote anonymously, so it’s pretty painless. There is one vote allowed per IP, so make it count!

Happy New Year!

HP Comics is Kicking Booty!

review_kindle

What a morning! Woke up to an email from one of my favorite writers, Kurt Busiek, saying The Imaginary Voyages of Edgar Allan Poe #1 is “quirky and magical, a pell-mell adventure into nightmare, and I’m not afraid to say so!” I’ve been a fan of Kurt’s work since the ’80s, and Rebecca’s become a fan of his work though the most excellent Astro City, so this really made our day!

And then…

We found out a graphic novel illustrated by our artist for The Imaginary Voyages of Edgar Allan Poe, Luis Czerniawski, won a Bram Stoker Award! (Congratulations, James Chambers!)

And then…

We found out we’d received a glowing review of The Imaginary Voyages of Edgar Allan Poe #1 on Amazon!

If you haven’t purchased your copy of The Imaginary Voyages of Edgar Allan Poe #1 yet, you can download it on KINDLE or COMIXOLOGY!

So I think it’s fair to say our weekend is going pretty well. Hope yours is, too!

Hocus Pocus Comics Artist Search Complete

hpc-banner

Thank you to all the brilliant artists who submitted their work for our artist search! I’ve really enjoyed seeing the diverse art styles that have appeared in my inbox during this process. But, alas, we are thrilled to say that we have filled the position and we exclaim, “Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more!” as we enter the fray. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to contact me. You can be certain I have filed your work away in our digital filing cabinet for future projects. And believe me, with our robust publishing schedule, we’re going to need some of you in the not-too-distant future!

Hocus Pocus Comics is moving forward! I’ve just submitted our first project to ComiXology, so now the waiting begins. I can’t wait to finally share the amazing books that we will be unleashing in the coming year. If you would like to get an insider sneak peek at what we’ll be releasing in the coming year, please become a PATRON to see exclusive Top Secret material before anyone else. Whether it’s $1 or $100 a month, it will all help us achieve our goals to make the multiverse’s greatest comics. So a big thank you to everyone who has already joined the cause, and I would encourage those who haven’t to become a part of our movement today!
