Comic creator, writer, and editor Dwight L. MacPherson is one of the most prolific writing professionals today. A longtime advocate of webcomics and digital media, his steampunk webcomic, SIDEWISE (DC Comics), won the June 2009 Zuda competition.
His work has been published at Image (THE SURREAL ADVENTURES OF EDGAR ALLAN POO, M-THEORY), IDW Publishing (AMERICAN MCGEE’S GRIMM), Devil’s Due Publishing (JIM REAPER comic strip), Viper Comics (KID HOUDINI AND THE SILVER DOLLAR MISFITS), Slave Labor Graphics (JIM REAPER comic strips), Arcana Studios (DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES, INTERAGENTS, LIL HELLIONS: A DAY AT THE ZOO), SelfMade Hero Publishing (adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s HE), Accent UK (THE 7TH WILL RISE AGAIN…AND AGAIN), as well as several anthologies such as IDW’s GENE SIMMONS HOUSE OF HORRORS.
In addition to writing, he has edited several comics for Arcana Studios (HOWARD LOVECRAFT AND THE FROZEN KINGDOM, HOWARD LOVECRAFT AND THE UNDERSEA KINGDOM which he also co-wrote with Bruce Brown, and HOWARD LOVECRAFT AND THE KINGDOM OF MADNESS) as well as Silent Devil Productions (DRACULA VS. KING ARTHUR).
In 2008 MacPherson was nominated for a Harvey Award for best online comic (THE SURREAL ADVENTURES OF EDGAR ALLAN POO) and an Eagle award for best graphic novel (THE SURREAL ADVENTURES OF EDGAR ALLAN POO). He lost the Eagle Award to his favorite comic writer, Alan Moore, and is quite proud of that fact.
