Dwight will be speaking to English students at Daniel Boone High School on Tuesday, October 19th.
Yes, the high school is really named after Daniel Boone. The picture above is the image we usually remember about the man.
Anyway, this lucky class is studying the incomparable works of Edgar Allan Poe, so Dwight will not only be speaking about his Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo books and the process of writing, but also about how Poe has inspired his work.
We will be displaying original artwork from the Poo books which were included in the Library of Virginia‘s Poe: Man, Myth or Monster exhibit, so this class is in for a real treat. [Or would that be a trick? -D]
And speaking of Poe, today we celebrate the anniversary of his death. RIP, Edgar. [You are truly an enduring well of inspiration for me, sir. Thank you for the amazing literature and legacy you left behind. -D]
